My wonderful mum who sadly passed away on the 20th September 2013, 30 days after being told she had inoperable non small cell Lung Cancer. On the 6th September 2014 in the Derbyshire peaks I took on the challenge of walking 27.8 miles in 12 hours. I lie to you not, it was so hard, it rained for the best part of the day,it was slippery and visibility was very minimal. After 11 hours & 40 minutes I crossed the finish line, sore, in pain but elated of finishing within the time limit. I, with help from family and friends have raised a staggering £1,147 and the amount is still raising.
I hope to have raised the awareness of this awful disease that is not only restricted to smokers.
My Mum was a fun loving person, she loved her hobbies of which she had many, loved her holidays and loved her family. We all feel Mum was snatched away from us by this cruel disease so quickly it feels so unfair.
Thanks to everyone who have already donated. I can't believe we passed my original target of £500 and then went on to pass my second target of a £1000, wow A massive thanks to everyone, Mum would be so proud xxxxxxxx
